BUSINESS eco- system across the world in general and of India in particular is more and more becoming volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous and unpredict- able. This has further inten- sified the need for taking faster, effective and timely decisions to survive grow and sustain. Dissemination of relevant information with requisite analyses, in- cluding predictive ones for near future, has assumed super ordinate importance for stakeholders to position themselves vis-à-vis an enti- ty. This requirement brought forth the advent of one spe- cific concept called ‘Inte- grated Reporting’ (IR), by way evolution from yester vears’ corporate reporting.
The demand from man- agement for providing more information with due anal- yses and effective mitigation measures for enterprise risk management (ERM) has in- creased manifold. In such a scenario effective Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) systems and proce- dures, coupled with perva- sive management planning and control (MPC), has as- sumed critical importance as an imperative. Otherwise it will be extremely challeng- ing for the leadership team to work on predictive mod- eling needed for IR. Predominant objective of this paper is to understand and appreciate the nuances of IR while it is in its pro- cess of getting crvstallized.
